HOSANNAH HAILYE
Math K-10, Pre Calculus 11-12, French/FRAL K-12, Sciences 8-10, and Essay Proofreading
Hosannah Hailye is a Grade 12 student at WGSS. She is a diligent and dedicated who has a passion for tutoring and and enjoys science and math courses in school. Outside of WGSS, she enjoys playing badminton, swimming and listening to music.

Academic Achievements:
Hosannah has received multiple exemplary student awards in math, computers and French classes throughout her high school career. She is a year ahead in science and math classes and has been in the English honours program since Grade 9. She is also in French Immersion and is striving to get her dual Dogwood Diploma. She is an honour roll student who has completed demanding courses such as AP Seminar, Pre-AP Biology and AP Physics 1 and received above 97% in all of them.

ISLA WU
Math 8-10, Science 8-10, Bio 11, and Essay Proofreading
Isla Wu is a Grade 11 student at WGSS. She is hardworking student who has the experience as a tutor for international students outside of school. Isla covers all subjects for students in elementary and middle school, or English and Math subjects. She partakes in multiple clubs such as LEOS club, Music for Wellness, and Boxes of Hope. She enjoys English and sciences courses at school. Outside of school, she loves the nature, and is involved with CTS as a camp leader. Her hobbies include singing, reading, and biking.

Academic Achievements:
Isla has been awarded Exemplary Student in Math 9. She is a year ahead in science and math, currently enrolled in Pre-Calculus 12 and AP Chemistry 12. She is an honour roll student who has taken intense courses such as Pre-AP Biology and Pre-AP Chemistry and is currently in English honours. She has been elected as Grade Rep of WGSS's student council.
ALICE BATE
French/FRAL 8-10, Math 8-11, Sciences 8-12
Alice Bate is a Grade 12 student at WGSS. She is an active member of the community, who enjoys volunteering outside of school. Other than being a hard-working student, Alice’s hobbies include photography, reading and writing.

Academic Achievements:
Alice is currently enrolled in French Immersion and is working towards her Double Dogwood Diploma. She has an average of above 90% for her Grade 11 year, which includes multiple AP and Grade 12 courses. Furthermore, Alice has been awarded Exemplary Students several times in maths and AP Chemistry 11.

SURI ZHENG
French/FRAL 8-10, Science 8-10, Math 8-11, English 8-10
Suri is a Grade 11 student at WGSS. She is a motivated individual who has been elected as Grade Rep in WGSS’s Student Council for three consecutive years. Along with being devoted to her studies at school, she also enjoys volunteering at LBN as an English tutor, and is equally an executive member of a global youth organization called NowYouth. Her hobbies include snowboarding, baking, volleyball, going on hikes, and playing the violin.

Academic Achievements:
Having obtained scores of 90% and above in all her classes, Suri has been presented with numerous Exemplary Student Awards in language, math and science courses, and has won certificates of distinction for three Chemistry contests. She is a year ahead in science, two years ahead in math and has been in English Honours since Grade 9. Furthermore, as she is enrolled in French Immersion, Suri is working towards her Double Dogwood Diploma.
GAON PARK
Chemistry 12
Gaon is a Grade 12 student at WGSS. He is a diligent and sincere scholar who likes to help others who struggle in academics. Gaon runs multiple clubs including the Green Team and the Fitness and Wellness club. Outside of school, Gaon enjoys playing basketball and watching Tarantino movies.

Academic Achievements:
Gaon has been awarded Exemplary Student in Pre-Calculus 12, in which he received a 99%. He is a year ahead in all his science and math courses. Last year, Gaon received over 90% in all of his courses. Lastly, Gaon is enrolled in French Immersion at WGSS, and is in the process of receiving a Double Dogwood Diploma.
FLORA ZHANG
Math 8-12, French/FRAL 8-10, Sciences 8-10, English 8-10
Flora is a Grade 11 student at WGSS. As displayed by her exceptional grades in all her classes, Flora is a responsible and hardworking learner. She also participates in various extracurricular activities, such as piano l, the Mathletics club, and choir. Additionally, she volunteers with the LBN organisation, where she is a tutor for students that are struggling in their English courses. In her spare time, Flora enjoys reading, biking, cooking, drawing, and playing tennis.

Academic Achievements:
Flora has received above 90% in all her courses and has been given Exemplary Student Awards for many of them. Furthermore, Flora learns at an accelerated pace: she is three years ahead in math and one year ahead in science, having already completed challenging courses such as AP Calculus 12, AP Physics 1, and Pre-AP Biology 11. She has also received certificates of distinction for various math contests. In addition, Flora is striving to get her Dogwood Diploma in the French Immersion program, and she possesses an extensive mastery of the English language, having been in the English Honours program for two consecutive years.
ELAINE CHEN

Elaine Chen is a grade 11 student at WGSS. She is a reliable student and is an active member in her community. Elaine has had experience guiding young students as a PA in Langley Figure Skating Club’s Canskate program and is a volunteer at SFU Camps. Along with her experience in the community, Elaine is a devoted learner that strives for growth and development. She also enjoys challenging herself with new activities and supporting others. Elaine is a current member of the school’s Rise Together club, Gardening club, and Concert Choir. Her hobbies include, playing the piano, guitar, art, gaming, and listening to music.

Academic Achievements:
As a dedicated student, Elaine has obtained scores higher than 90% in all of her classes and was awarded Exemplary Student in Math 9. She as àn excellent grasp on the English language as she was enrolled in English honours for 2 consecutive years. Elaine has also been enrolled in the French immersion program for 4 years, developing her skills in the French language as well. She has already completed all the mandatory Social Studies classes, and is a year ahead in math. Elaine is currently enrolled in challenging classes such as AP Physics 1, AP Seminar, and Pre-Calculus 12.
ALLISON HOLCIK

Allison Holcik is a WGSS Alumni who now attends the University of the Fraser Valley as a pre-law English Honours and Criminology student. She is passionate about literature, history and academic writing. During her time at WGSS, Allison took part in many clubs including Gator Nation News, debate, poetry and the Literary Alliance book club. She also played rugby and was a member of the 2020-2021 Graduation council as the Administrative Liason.

Academic Achievements:
Allison has earned multiple exemplary student awards and graduated with Honours last year. She has been a multiple time winner of the Principal's List and worked as a Teacher's Assistant in grade 10. She completed the AP Seminar/Research Diploma and during quarantine participated in a Proofreading and Copyediting class which she passed with a 98%. Allison is an academically gifted student who graduated with straight A's and many teachers' commendation
JOSHUA LEE
Math 9-11
Joshua Lee is a Grade 12 student at WGSS. Given his consistently great grades, he is a determined
student, enjoys taking computer courses, and is participating in multiple clubs this year. Outside of
school, his hobbies include board games, reading, and building LEGO.

Josh completed his Grade 11 year with grades averaging over 90%, receiving exemplary student awards in the process. He has been a year ahead in Math and Science courses since Grade 9. He is in the French Immersion program at WGSS and is in the process of receiving a Double Dogwood Diploma for his efforts.
